One of the super foods for garden birds, Sunflower Heart Chips are dehusked Sunflower Seeds which have been broken into smaller, bite-sized pieces. A perfect alternative to Sunflower Hearts, these Chips still contain the same amount of nutrition and essential oils of a full Sunflower Heart.
Ideal for smaller gardens, smaller feeders and those just starting feeding bird feeding due to the small bag size. Take a look at our larger bags for bigger gardens and especially hungry birds. The larger the bag, the more you'll save!
When to feed
Sunflower Heart Chips can be fed all year round, however due to the smaller, kibbled size of the Chips, they are a popular springtime feed for fledglings. This is because fledglings will struggle to eat larger seeds and feeds, but the chips are a perfect size.
How to feed
Suitable for year round feeding, our Sunflower Heart Chips can be fed from either; a seed feeder, a ground feeder or on a bird table.
How to store
All of our bird foods should be stored in an airtight container to preserve them for as long as possible. If you do not have an airtight container, a cool dry place will suffice, but we do recommend a container to help keep them fresh for as long as possible.
Birds you might attract to your garden
Sunflower Heart Chips are a favourite among many species of wild birds. The smaller kibbled size makes them appealing for smaller birds to eat. You can expect the following guests in your garden when feeding chips:
Blackbird, Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Coal Tit, Collared Dove, Dunnock, Goldfinch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Great Tit, Greenfinch, House Sparrow, Long-Tailed Tit, Nuthatch, Robin, Wood Pigeon.
