About Our 25kg Mixed Chicken Grit for Poultry

It's essential that your birds are offered grit as part of their diet. It provides them with high levels of calcium which is fantastic for both their bones and for their egg shells. Without strong level of calcium, eggs would be weaker and more prone to breaking, resulting in lower egg counts.

Even if your birds have good, strong shells, extra grit will not harm the birds and will provide them with opportunities to forage, relieving boredom and stress.

The 25kg Mixed Poultry Grit consists of both soluble and insoluble grit mixed in suitable proportions. Soluble soft calcium grit which is absorbed into the bird's system, making it healthy and ensuring strong shelled eggs and contributing to the well-being of the bird. Insoluble hard grit which has grinding action in the gizzard, aiding the grinding up of food and ensuring the bird is able to digest food properly. Hens do not have any teeth so this is especially important.

Ingredients

All grit is graded 4-7mm.

Composition - Calcareous Marine Shells, Flint Grit and Limestone.

Our chicken feeds are suitable for feeding all year round.

How to feed

You can either feed this grit from the ground or from a poultry grit feeder.

How to store

All of our foods should be stored in an airtight container to preserve them for as long as possible. If you do not have an airtight container, a cool dry place will suffice, but we do recommend a container to help keep them fresh for as long as possible.
