About Our 12.55kg Niger Seed
Niger Seed is well known as being a favourite food of Finches. These tiny, delicious seeds will be loved by any Finch that enters your garden and many other smaller birds too. We recommend using it alongside our other bird foods to encourage a wide variety of birds into your garden.
When to feed
Niger Seed can be fed all year around. Although we do encourage our customers to supplement it with a high energy food in the colder winter months such as our Suet Pellets or Suet Fat Balls. This helps to provide a well balanced diet all year round.
How to feed
Our 12.55kg Niger Seed is best fed from a special Niger feeder. The seeds are quite small, so if you try and add them to a normal seed feeder they will simply fall out.
How to store
All of our bird foods should be stored in an airtight container to preserve them for as long as possible. If you do not have an airtight container, a cool dry place will suffice, but we do recommend a container to help keep them in their best quality for as long as possible.
Birds you might attract to your garden
Niger Seed is a very popular feed among many of the smaller birds, particularly Finches. You should also find you attract the following birds:
Collared Dove, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Redpoll, Siskin, Turtle Dove
